Annual Scholarship
Each year since 1996, the Pitt Band Alumni Council has been proud to award annual scholarship awards to current Pitt Band students. Our main award is a $1,000/year scholarship to a sophomore that is then matched in the student's junior and senior year in partnership with the Pitt Alumni Association and Pitt Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. In 2010, we established a scholarship endowment to ensure perpetual funding for our awards. Beginning in 2017, interest income from our endowment enabled us to also offer secondary awards to be matched in the same manner, and in 2022 our total annual matched award pool reached $2,000. All of these scholarships are made possible by the great support and generous donations from you, our alumni. Please continue to give generously so that we can continue to support our Pitt Band and its students.
Scholarship Endowment
Through your generous donations over the years, in 2010 we established a permanent scholarship endowment through the Pitt Alumni Association. This endowment's interest and future donations will help to fund scholarships for Pitt Band students for many years to come. However, the fund is still young and not yet earning enough annual interest to fully fund our scholarship winners and maximize available matching contributions from the Pitt Alumni Association. We would strongly encourage you to continue to support the Pitt Band scholarships so that we can continue to grow our endowment, grow our support of the Pitt Band, and grow our support of deserving Pitt Band students and support their academic success.
You can donate directly to the PBAC Endowed Scholarship Fund online via the Pitt Alumni Association. Through their form, you can make one-time or recurring donations, and can also add information for employer matching gift programs.
